IMA is a Master Distributor for STEMGEL TM (hydrogel stemming). STEMGEL replaces traditional aggregate stemming to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of drilling and blasting outcomes by way of improved rock fragmentation, reduced fly rock, noise and dust suppression. The technology focuses on the blast containment benefits of using the blast pressure wave energy for gains in rock fracturing and fragmentation. The improved attenuation reflects the pressure wave energy back into the rock formation thereby increasing energy transfer. This kind of consistent and effective control of blast pressure energy cannot be achieved using traditional aggregate stemming. IMA has developed and manufactures the Gel drive delivery units that pump the STEMGEL directly into blast holes to replace aggregate stemming. IMA can provide a total load service and is responsible for the supply of STEMGEL and delivery units including all project planning, coordination and training requirements.
