Starting from August 1, 2025, the European Union (EU) will require that all wireless devices connected to the internet comply with the EN 18031 standard under the Radio Equipment Directive (RED, 2014/53/EU). This is a mandatory regulation aimed at ensuring the safety, electromagnetic compatibility, efficient use of the frequency spectrum, and enhanced security of wireless devices. According to the RED regulation, which applies to wireless devices from August 1, 2025, if you handle or manufacture wireless devices, TÜV Nord can guide you through the entire process, including the scope of certification, product testing and evaluation, and obtaining the necessary certifications.
