Current Transformers
An instrument transformer in which the secondary current, in normal conditions of use, is substantially
proportional to the primary current and differs in phase from it by angle which is approximately zero for an
appropriate direction of the connections. It isolates the instrument and protection circuit from the primary
side and protect the devices against overload according to the overcurrent characteristics of the transformer.
Current transformers can have several secondary windings with cores of identical of different characteristics
completely isolated from each other.
Measuring Current Transformer
A current transformer intended to supply indicating instruments, integrating meters and similiar apparatus.
Protective Current Transformer
A current transformer intended to supply protective relays
