A ball valve is a type of flow control device that employs a hollow, perforated, and pivoting ball to regulate the passage of fluid. When the hole at the center of the ball aligns with the flow inlet, the valve is in the open position, allowing fluid to pass through. Conversely, when the ball is rotated 90 degrees using the valve handle, the valve is closed, obstructing the flow. The valve handle is designed to lie flat in line with the flow when the valve is open, and perpendicular to it when closed, enabling effortless visual confirmation of the valve.
